Matt Newburg
Practicing since 2007, Matt Newburg has represented clients throughout Michigan in serious and complex criminal cases—from prominent professionals and public officials to some of the most vulnerable people in the criminal justice system.
In addition to his private practice, Matt serves on the Executive Leadership Team of the Eaton County Public Defender’s Office and the State Bar of Michigan Representative Assembly. He is also a contributing author for ICLE, providing commentary on Michigan criminal jury instructions.
Matt has been recognized by Michigan Super Lawyers every year since 2019, after being selected to Rising Stars from 2014–2018.
For nearly two decades, his approach has remained simple: prepare relentlessly, communicate honestly, and provide every client with a defense worthy of what is at stake.
