Matt is a criminal defense trial lawyer.  He specializes in representing individuals accused of the most significant crimes the State of Michigan has.  Since opening his law firm in 2005, Matt has represented individuals across the state of Michigan in every level of Michigan courts.  He began by specializing in Medical Marijuana Criminal Defense where he was part of the most significant cases in the state.  He was involved in People v. Koon in the Michigan Supreme Court, People v McQueen in the Michigan Supreme Court, People v Green at the trial and appellate courts and People v. Amsdill.  

 

Matt lives and excells in the courtroom.  He has significant trial experience and the results speak for themselves.  Juries have found Matt's clients NOT GUILTY of Murder, Criminal Sexual Conduct, Voter Fraud, and more.  He has received dismissals after evidentiary hearings in Resisting & Obstructing Police Officers, Possession of Meth, Possession and Distribution of Marijuana just to name a few.  

 

His peers have also recongnized Matt as an elite lawyer.  He has been named by Super Lawyers, a national publication as a "Rising Star" in 2014 and 2015.  In 2014, he was recognized by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as a "Up and Coming Lawyer."  He serves as President of the Eaton County Bar Association, Member of the Eaton County Priority Drug Court Board, he is a Board Member of the Eaton County Commmunity Corrections Advisory Board and Serves on a subcommittee of the State Bar of Michigan.
