Matt Newburg

Matt is a criminal defense trial lawyer who has represented clients that include lawyers, police and correction officers, state representatives, municipal employees, doctors and others throughout the state of Michigan. He specializes in representing individuals accused of the most significant crimes the State of Michigan has. Since opening his law firm in 2010, Matt has represented individuals accused of the most significant crimes across the state of Michigan in every level of Michigan state courts and federal court.

Matt lives, and excels in the courtroom. He has significant trial experience and the results speak for themselves. Juries have found Matt's clients NOT GUILTY of Murder, Criminal Sexual Conduct, Voter Fraud, and more. He has been involved in some of the most high profile cases in the state of Michigan and his cases have been covered by national media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, CNN, MSNBC and ESPN.

His peers have also recognized Matt as an elite lawyer. He has been named by Super Lawyers, a national publication, as a "Rising Star" in 2014, 2015 and 2016. In 2014, he was recognized by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as a "Up and Coming Lawyer." He serves as President of the Eaton County Bar Association, Member of the Eaton County Priority Drug Court Board, he is a Board Member of the Eaton County Community Corrections Advisory Board and serves on a subcommittee of the State Bar of Michigan. Matt is also a published author. He is a contributor to the Institute of Continuing Education (ICLE)'s annual publication of the Michigan Criminal Jury Instructions.
